Former Chelsea defender Arabella Suttie has left latest club Birmingham City according to reports on the Blues’ official club website.

The 19-year-old full-back has spent one year at St Andrew’s in which she managed to make just one appearance for the Blues.

Suttie came off the bench to play four minutes of a 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on the opening day of last season. The player suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury in training shortly after that match. That injury brought an extremely early end to the youngster’s season.

The teenager was set to enjoy her first season as a senior player last season but it turned out to be a nightmare campaign for Suttie which also ended in Birmingham City being relegated from the Barclays Women’s Super League.

It has today been confirmed that Suttie will not be a member of the Birmingham City side which will look to bounce straight back to the top flight by winning the Barclays Women’s Championship title this season. The defender will look to further her career elsewhere after leaving St Andrew’s.

Prior to joining Birmingham City last year, Suttie spent five years with Chelsea although she never made a senior appearance for the club. It is not yet known what is next for the former WSL Academy League title winner.
