Durham midfielder Beth Hepple has signed a new contract with the club ahead of the 2022/2023 Barclays Women’s Championship season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Wildcats this afternoon.

The 25-year-old has been with Durham throughout their time in the second tier. Hepple has been a leading source of goals for the club in recent times. She has netted double figures in the Barclays Women’s Championship in each of the last two seasons. After extending her Durham stay, Hepple will be hoping to finally fire the club to promotion this season.

After signing on again at Maiden Castle, Hepple said “I’m over the moon. Going to a professional model is really exciting – it’s amazing, to think where we were when we first started, it was a million miles away from here. I’m really lucky to be part of this team and this club is growing every year.

“The intensity and standard of training that the coaches are demanding of us is the best it’s ever been. Hopefully that will show this year.

“We’ve got such a good team. We do every year, but I think we’ve got a bit extra this year. We’ve got some new signings too so that can only be positive for us.”

Hepple becomes the eighth Durham player to sign a new deal with the club this summer. She will make her 200th appearance for The Wildcats if she features against Sunderland at Maiden Castle on Sunday.
