Sheffield United will make their Bramall Lane return when they face Durham in their first home fixture of the season in the Barclays Women’s Championship on Saturday evening.

The Blades will play all of their home matches in S2 this season in what is a ground-breaking move by the South Yorkshire club.

Sheffield United are again set to be without defensive pair Ellie Wilson and Lara Miller against Durham this weekend with both players recovering from injuries. Captain Sophie Barker also missed last weekend’s 1-0 defeat at Blackburn Rovers and her current condition is not known. Despite the defeat at Ewood Park, head coach Neil Redfearn was happy with the performance last weekend and he is unlikely to make many changes to his starting XI.

Durham boss Lee Sanders has some big decisions to make after his side arguably underperformed against Sunderland in a North East derby last time out. The pair drew 1-1 at Maiden Castle with the visitors being good value for their point. Georgia Robert could be considered for a first start against her former club while a full debut may be handed to Maltese international midfielder Maria Farrugia. Durham boss Sanders also has options in attack with Rio Hardy and Bridget Galloway ready and waiting if called upon.

The Barclays Women’s Championship fixture between Sheffield United and Durham kicks-off at 5.30pm on Saturday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased on the day at Bramall Lane.
