Manchester City forward Mary Fowler says that she is feeling really fit after the first few weeks with her new club.

The 19-year-old joined The Cityzens in June following a spell with French club Montpellier HSC. Fowler made her debut for Manchester City in their UEFA Women’s Champions League Round 1 semi-final tie against Tomiris-Turan and she could go on to be an important player for Gareth Taylor’s side this season.

Fowler has recently linked-up with the Australian national team ahead of their international friendly double header against Canada. When speaking to Football Australia Media, the player said that spending time with Manchester City has already improved her general conditioning.

“I’ve come into camp and I feel fit,” Fowler said. “Being at Man City, it’s a club at a really high level and just being able to immerse myself in an environment where the standard is always high, it’s always going to help me.”

Fowler went on to say that she is settling into life in Manchester and she is enjoying her early days living in the city.

She said “I really like it in Manchester. I got my apartment two weeks ago so I’m just settling in and I get to decorate the place.

“The team are really nice, it’s a good bunch of girls and having Alanna (Kennedy) and Hayley (Raso) has made it a lot easier for me to settle in. It has been good and I’m just looking forward to getting started.”

Fowler could feature for Australia in their international double header against Canada with the games scheduled to take place on Saturday and next Tuesday.
