Leicester City have completed the signing of teenage forward Ellen Jones ahead of the start of the new season.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Leicester City this evening.
The 19-year-old attacker, who can operate centrally or out wide, joins The Foxes after most recently playing her football in the United States. Jones previously briefly turned out for Bristol City during their time in the Barclays Women’s Super League. The forward made five appearances for The Robins in the top flight.
After completing her move to The King Power Stadium, Jones said “It feels amazing to be here and I’m excited to come back to the WSL after some time in America – coming to Leicester is a great opportunity for me. I had a number of options, but Leicester felt like the right fit. This Club is a great place to be, and the Club is striving for more progress.
“I was 17 when I last played in the WSL with Bristol City before going out to America, and I think getting that WSL exposure at that age will only help me.”
Jones will be available for Leicester City’s opening match of the new Barclays Women’s Super League season.
