Liverpool have completed the signing of goalkeeper Faye Kirby from city rivals Everton.

The Reds announced the deal this afternoon via an update on their official club website.

The England Under-19 international keeper is yet to make an appearance in the senior elite game but she will continue her development under Matt Beard’s guidance at Liverpool. The Reds have built a strong Goalkeeping Union which includes Rachael Laws, Eartha Cumings, Rylee Foster and Charlotte Clarke.

Kirby will be seen as one for the future and she will be hoping to make a positive impact around the training ground in the coming months.

After completing her move to Liverpool, Kirby said “I’m excited for what’s to come. It’s a good club, a big club and hopefully many experiences to come.

“When I first heard about the interest in coming to the club, it excited me and it only took a few conversations with Matt (Beard) and Joe (Potts) to make me want to make the move.

“Obviously the girls had a big year last year and being part of the next journey will be something special. Playing at the top level is what everyone wants to do and being given this opportunity, I feel like I couldn’t pass on it.”

Kirby is likely to start the 2022/2023 Barclays Women’s Super League season behind experienced keepers Laws and Cumings.
