Two of the Barclays Women’s Super League’s new bosses go head-to-head this afternoon when West Ham United face Everton at The Chigwell Construction Stadium in Dagenham.

The Hammers appointed club legend Paul Konchesky as their new head coach at the end of last season while Brian Sørensen has filled the managerial vacancy at Everton.

West Ham United go into their opening match in good shape with midfielder Emma Snerle being their only absentee. New boss Konchesky could hand debuts to a whole host of summer signings including Kirsty Smith, Risa Shimizu, Viviane Asseyi and Honoka Hayashi along with former loanee Lisa Evans who has now signed on with the club permanently.

Everton manager Sørensen confirmed a couple of injuries in his pre-match press conference. The Blue Girls are without Toni Duggan and Karen Holmgaard for the trip to the capital while the condition of long term absentee Nicoline Sørensen is unknown. Everton could offer several debuts with Katja Snoeijs, Katrine Veje, Elise Stenevik, Jess Park, Clare Wheeler, Aggie Beever-Jones and Gio Queiroz all set to be involved. Sørensen will also need to select his first-choice goalkeeper from Courtney Brosnan and Emily Ramsey.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between West Ham United and Everton kicks-off at 3pm. Tickets are available to purchase at The Chigwell Construction Stadium this afternoon.
