Arsenal defender Teyah Goldie has returned to training after more than six months on the sidelines.
The Gunners have posted a video on their official club Twitter account this evening which shows the teenager being cheered back onto the training pitch by her Arsenal teammates.
Goldie ruptured her Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) whilst playing for Watford against Sheffield United in a Barclays Women’s Championship match back in early March. The youngster had joined The Golden Girls on a dual-registration arrangement in January but her injury restricted her to just four appearances for the Hertfordshire club.
The 18-year-old had to undergo surgery and she has spent the last six months in rehabilitation. Goldie’s bid to return to action has taken a step forward with the player having returned to the training pitch. The defender is likely to be some way from regaining match fitness, however, a return to the grass will have given Goldie a huge boost.
Goldie made her senior debut for Arsenal in a Vitality Women’s FA Cup tie against Gillingham back in April 2021. The player made her league debut for The Gunners as a second half substitute in their 4-0 home victory over Leicester City last season. She will now have her eyes set upon proving both her fitness and quality to head coach Jonas Eidevall in the coming months.
