Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall says that his side will need to be mindful of latest opponents West Ham United’s counter attacking and aerial threats when the two sides meet at the LV Bet Stadium this weekend.

The Hammers have impressed so far this season under the guidance of new manager Paul Konchesky and they will arrive in Boreham Wood unbeaten in their last three matches in all competitions.

When speaking in the pre-match press conference, Arsenal boss Eidevall highlighted the dangers which West Ham United will present his side this weekend.

“I think it’s pretty clear when you see West Ham play that they’re a strong team on the counter attack,” Eidevall said.

“I think that they have some really good individual players up front who can do a few different things like Viviane Asseyi, she’s pacy, she’s very good at taking on players one v one. Dagný Brynjarsdóttir is one of the better players in the air in the whole division and she’s very threatening coming in with runs from behind.

“We really have to be aware of that pace and the threats that they pose, so that’s what we need to try and nullify.”

The Arsenal squad has been used to the maximum in recent weeks with the club contesting both domestic and European fixtures and Eidevall went on to hail the readiness of his team.

He said “I think it’s a testament to the whole squad for preparing but also, for everyone working with the players. With my whole staff group, we are making sure that we have a day-to-day operation where we are preparing players to be ready to go on the pitch, so that part I’m pleased about and it’s very much needed to do that with the playing schedule.”

Arsenal’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against West Ham United kicks-off at 6.45pm on Sunday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
