PREVIEW: Arsenal v Manchester United

There is a big six-pointer at the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table this weekend with early season pacesetters Arsenal welcoming third-placed side Manchester United to The Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have won six league games out of six so far this season while latest opponents Manchester United have taken 15 points from an available 18 in the early weeks of the new campaign.

Arsenal go into the match without defenders Leah Williamson and Rafaelle Souza who remain sidelined with their respective injuries. Both players are understood to be making good progress. Swedish international forward Lina Hurtig is also out but head coach Jonas Eidevall has confirmed that Manuela Zinsberger, Lotte Wubben-Moy, Jordan Nobbs, Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema are all available for selection.

Manchester United head coach Marc Skinner has revealed that he is not expecting to have any new injury concerns to contend with this weekend. Defender Aoife Mannion is the only absentee with the player set to return from long-term injury after the Christmas break.

Arsenal have announced the news that close to 40,000 fans are expected to attend this weekend’s match which takes place at The Emirates Stadium at 5.30pm on Saturday evening. Tickets remain on general sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
