Reading and Liverpool will be hoping to put further distance between themselves and the Barclays Women’s Super League’s relegation zone when the two sides meet at the Select Car Leasing Stadium on Thursday evening.

The two sides have played seven league fixtures so far this season, however, Reading have managed to take just three points while Liverpool have four points on the board.

Reading go into the match without the services of goalkeeper Jackie Burns who is suspended following her dismissal during the 3-1 defeat at Aston Villa at the weekend. The Royals will also be without Brooke Hendrix, Emma Harries, Deanne Rose and Charlie Wellings through injury.

Liverpool are again expected to be without Rachael Laws with Eartha Cumings set to deputise in goal. Republic of Ireland international forward Leanne Kiernan is thought to be the only other absentee. Manager Matt Beard confirmed in his pre-match press conference that attacker Shanice van de Sanden is now fit enough to start, although her minutes are likely to continue to be managed over the next couple of weeks.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Reading and Liverpool kicks-off at 7pm on Thursday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
