Arsenal return to UEFA Women’s Champions League action this evening when they take on Italian club Juventus at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

The Gunners have beaten Lyon and FC Zürich in the group stage and they now face another tough test against a strong Juventus team.

Ahead of the fixture, FAWSL Full-Time have been looking at the match information provided by UEFA. Here are three key facts for this evening’s fixture between Juventus and Arsenal.

A reunion with Joe

Arsenal will come up against a familiar face in Turin this evening with their former boss Joe Montemurro being the head coach of Juventus.

The 53-year-old spent three-and-a-half years in North London. His highlights include leading The Gunners to a first Barclays Women’s Super League title in seven years and winning the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup.

Arsenal are yet to win a trophy since Montemurro’s exit in summer 2021 and the Australian will be hoping to add some complexity to The Gunners’ European challenge by recording a good result with current club Juventus this evening.

Juventus are quite a force in Europe

Until recently, Italian clubs were never feared by opponents in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Juventus are a club that are now changing history.

The Black and Whites have lost just two of their last 18 UEFA Women’s Champions League matches (W12 D4). Their defeats have come against the 2020/2021 finalists Chelsea and 2021/2022 winners Lyon.

Juventus have won three of their four home fixtures in this season’s competition and make no doubt about it, this will not be an easy game for Arsenal.

Goals galore?

Juventus have failed to score in just one of their last 18 UEFA Women’s Champions League fixtures while Arsenal have fired blanks in just two of their last 21 European games. The pair have scored 11 goals between them in this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage and there could be goals when the two sides face each other this evening.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture between Juventus and Arsenal kicks-off at 8pm
