Liverpool will be hoping to take another step towards qualification for the quarter-finals of this season’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup when they welcome second tier side Blackburn Rovers to Prenton Park on Sunday.

Matt Beard’s side have already beaten Sunderland and Leicester City in this season’s competition and another victory might just be enough to seal The Reds’ place in the last eight.

Liverpool manager Beard continues to be without the services of long term absentees Leanne Kiernan and Rylee Foster along with long-serving goalkeeper Rachael Laws for his side’s latest match. Beard is likely to adopt some squad rotation for this game with the likes of Leighanne Robe, Rhiannon Roberts, Missy Bo Kearns, Carla Humphrey, Yana Daniëls, Megan Campbell and Hannah Silcock potentially coming into the starting line-up.

Blackburn Rovers arrive on Merseyside having lost both of their matches in this season’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup but they have been the most-improved side in the Barclays Women’s Championship in recent weeks. Midfielder Emma Doyle continues to be sidelined as she rebuilds her fitness following a long term injury while defender Kayleigh McDonald is also expected to be unavailable once again.

The FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup fixture between Liverpool and Blackburn Rovers is scheduled to kick-off at 2pm on Sunday afternoon. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
