Chelsea are in UEFA Women’s Champions League action on Friday evening when they travel to Albania to face Group A minnows Vllaznia.

The Blues are top of their group and will qualify for the quarter-finals with a favourable result at the Loro Boriçi Stadium.

Ahead of the match, FAWSL Full-Time have been looking at the facts and figures provided by UEFA. Here are three key facts which relate to Chelsea’s UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture against Vllaznia.

Chelsea have a good defensive record in Europe

The London club have kept six clean sheets in their last eight matches in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. The Blues were breached for the first time in this season’s competition as they battled to a 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in Spain on Matchday 4.

European defeats are rare for The Blues

Chelsea have lost just one of their last 10 UEFA Women’s Champions League games, winning six in the process. That defeat came a year ago as they lost 4-0 to VfL Wolfsburg in Germany. It should be noted that Chelsea were battling COVID-19 infections around the time of that game.

Vllaznia’s constant challenge in Europe

Vllaznia have won just two of their last 15 UEFA Women’s Champions League matches (D4 L9), failing to score in 10 of those games including the last four. The Albanian club have beaten Slovakian club TJ Spartak Myjava and Ukrainian side FK Vorskla / Zhytlobud-2 Kharkiv in the qualifying rounds of this season’s competition in 90 minutes.

Chelsea’s UEFA Women’s Champions League fixture against Vllaznia kicks-off at 5.45pm on Friday evening.
