Arsenal will be hoping to secure their place in the quarter-finals of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League when they face reigning European champions Lyon at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening.

The Gunners need a favourable result to qualify with Jonas Eidevall’s side being three points clear of Lyon and five points ahead of Juventus with just two rounds of group matches remaining.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall will again be without the services of youngster Teyah Goldie who is recovering from a long-term injury. Forward Lina Hurtig will be in the squad and could play some minutes while midfielder Kim Little is back in training. Eidevall is unsure whether Little will be in a position to feature against Lyon.

Lyon head coach Sonia Bompastor remains without a number of key players, although the French club are arguably in a slightly better place than when they were defeated 5-1 by Arsenal in the reverse fixture. Ellie Carpenter, Assimina Maoulida, Griedge Mbock Bathy, Sara Däbritz, Catarina Macario and Ada Hegerberg are all out.

The UEFA Women’s Champions League group stage fixture between Arsenal and Lyon kicks-off at 8pm on Thursday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
