This weekend’s action in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup has been severely hit by the continued spell of cold weather.

Temperatures have barely moved above freezing over the past week meaning that a number of pitch inspections were necessary to determine if games could go ahead. Unfortunately, there has been a wave of postponements over the weekend.

Here at FAWSL Full-Time, we have been continuously monitoring the conditions to determine how the bad weather will affect the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup fixture schedule. We have kept this page updated across the weekend with the latest news.

Thursday’s FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup fixture between Blackburn Rovers and Sunderland was postponed due to a frozen pitch while Friday’s meeting between Bristol City and Lewes was also called-off for the same reasons. The fixture between Coventry United and Reading was played.

On Saturday, Brighton & Hove Albion’s home fixture against West Ham United was frozen off while Leicester City’s fixture against Manchester City at The Pirelli Stadium was also postponed. Everton’s game against Durham was switched to an artificial surface at Marine AFC while Birmingham City’s clash with London City Lionesses at St Andrew’s went ahead.

Sunday’s games between Manchester United and Sheffield United and Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur are on but Charlton Athletic’s London derby against Crystal Palace is off due to a frozen pitch at The Oakwood.
