Two English clubs will participate in this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals with both Arsenal and Chelsea having safely negotiated their way through the group stage.

When is the quarter-final draw and who could Arsenal and Chelsea face? FAWSL Full-Time can now bring you all of the key details to note.

The Gunners and The Blues will have to wait some time to learn of their quarter-final opponents. UEFA have indicated that the draw will take place in Nyon, Switzerland on 10 February 2023 and will provisionally start at 12pm (UK). The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be mapped out by the draw.

As winners of their respective groups, Arsenal and Chelsea cannot meet in the quarter-finals. The pair also cannot draw the runners-up from their groups in the quarter-finals so The Gunners cannot face Lyon and The Blues are not permitted to play Paris Saint-Germain. The draw will have no restrictions for two teams from the same territory (one seeded and one unseeded) facing each other.

Arsenal know that they will take on either Paris Saint-Germain, AS Roma or Bayern Munich over two legs in the quarter-finals while Chelsea can face either of the latter two clubs or reigning European champions Lyon. As group winners, both English clubs will play the first leg away from home.

Once the quarter-final draw has been concluded, a semi-final draw will take place to determine who the winners of each quarter-final will face. UEFA will also draw the home and away teams for the final.

The quarter-final first leg ties will be staged on 21/22 March 2023 while the second legs will take place a week later. The semi-final first legs will then take place on 22/23 April 2023 with the return legs again being staged the following week.

The 2022/2023 UEFA Women’s Champions League final will be staged at the PSV Stadion, the home of PSV Eindhoven, on 3 June 2023.
