Real Madrid head coach Alberto Toril could opt to make a move for Manchester City winger Hayley Raso when her contract at The Academy Stadium expires this summer.

The 28-year-old Australian international signed a two-year deal with Manchester City when she joined the club in summer 2021 and the player is yet to extend her contract beyond this summer.

Raso is a very talented player but she has struggled for game time at Manchester City, particularly since forward Chloe Kelly regained her fitness towards the end of last season after overcoming an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury.

In her time as a Manchester City player, Raso has featured in 20 of the club’s 31 fixtures in the Barclays Women’s Super League. Just nine of those outings have come as starts while Raso has started just one league fixture this season. The winger could be keen for more minutes after seeing her game time for The Cityzens limited.

According to media reports in Spain via well-established outlet Marca, Real Madrid could look to offer a contract to Raso for next season. The Whites may have a large turnover of players in the summer and the winger could help take the club onto the next level.

At this stage, it is unknown whether Raso will be retained by Manchester City or if she would be open to a move to Spain. Rumours over her long-term future are likely to rumble on for some weeks yet.
