Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of American defender Zoe Morse.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Brighton & Hove Albion this morning.

Morse has signed an initial 18-month deal with The Seagulls. The player moves to the Sussex club after most recently playing her football in the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with the Chicago Red Stars.

The 24-year-old started her career in the US college system with Virginia Cavaliers before being picked up by Chicago Red Stars. She made 22 appearances for the Red Stars in the 2022 NWSL season.

On the international stage, Morse has represented the United States at Under-20 level. She is yet to break into the senior set-up.

After completing the signing of Morse, Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Jens Scheuer said “I am really happy that we have signed Zoe. She is reaching her prime playing years in terms of her age.

“She has a lot of experience in one of the best leagues in the world. She’s a really strong defender, but good at building out from the back – we’re happy to have her here.”

Morse becomes the fourth January transfer window signing at Brighton & Hove Albion. She follows Guro Bergsvand, Dejana Stefanović and Brianna Visalli in joining the Sussex club.
