Coventry United defender Anna Wilcox has made the decision to end her involvement with the club as a player.

The Red and Greens announced the news this afternoon via an update on their official club website.

Wilcox has made nine appearances for Coventry United in all competitions this season. She scored her only goal as Coventry United lost 3-2 at Blackburn Rovers in October in the Barclays Women’s Championship. The defender has been an excellent servant to the Warwickshire throughout their time in the second tier.

It has today been revealed that Wilcox will be relinquishing her playing duties with the club. Wilcox will continue her work within the local community in her off-field role as Coventry United’s Community Officer.

Following today’s announcement, Wilcox said “I would like to thank all my teammates, staff and supporters from past and present. Up the Cov.”

Wilcox is the first Coventry United player to leave the squad in 2023. Head coach Lee Burch has been busy bringing new players into the club for the second half of the season. The Red and Greens’ ranks have been bolstered by four new faces in the last week. The club have signed Eleanor Ryan-Doyle, Morgan Cross, Rachel Newborough and Lucy Whipp.
