Aston Villa defender Sarah Mayling has signed a new long-term contract with the club.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Aston Villa this afternoon.
It has been reported that Mayling has committed her future to Aston Villa until summer 2025.
Mayling joined Aston Villa in summer 2021, following head coach Carla Ward from her former club Birmingham City. The full-back has been one of the most consistent performers for The Villans in the Barclays Women’s Super League in the last 18 months. Mayling has made 30 appearances for Aston Villa in the Barclays Women’s Super League while she has scored one goal.
After securing Mayling’s services for the long-term, Aston Villa boss Ward said “I’ve worked with Sarah for three seasons now. She is a top professional who gives everything day in and day out.
“She’s growing into one of the league’s most consistent players and we believe she can go on to be anything she wants to be.
“We are all looking forward to continuing our journey together.”
Mayling and Aston Villa return to action following the mid-season break with a Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at The Poundland Bescot Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
