Former Manchester United and Manchester City midfielder Cara Milne-Redhead has left Coventry United by mutual consent.

The Red and Greens announced the news via a post on their official club Twitter account just a short time ago.

Milne-Redhead was Coventry United head coach Lee Burch’s first signing after he joined the club in the summer. The 20-year-old midfielder has struggled for minutes in her time at the Butts Park Arena with the player making nine substitute appearances for the Warwickshire club in all competitions. Milne-Redhead’s Coventry United departure has today been agreed and the player will now look to take up a fresh challenge.

The youngster arrived at the Butts Park Arena last summer with plenty of potential. Milne-Redhead started out with Clitheroe Wolves before going on to spend five years with Burnley. Milne-Redhead then joined the Manchester United academy where she became the vice-captain of her team before ending her youth days as a Development Squad player at Manchester City. Milne-Redhead joined latest club Coventry United following a spell in the United States with Seton Hall Pirates.

Milne-Redhead’s final appearance for Coventry United came as the club lost 4-0 at home to Reading in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group stage before Christmas.
