Southampton have completed the signing of midfielder Chloe Peplow on a loan deal from Reading until the end of the season.

The Saints announced news of the transfer via an update on their official club website this evening.

Peplow joins Southampton after her deal at previous loan club Crystal Palace was terminated ahead of schedule. The 24-year-old made eight appearances for The Eagles in all competitions. The player has been with parent club Reading for the last 18 months and she made 13 appearances for the Berkshire outfit in the Barclays Women’s Super League last season. She will now be hoping for a regular run of games whilst on loan at Southampton.

After completing her loan move to St Mary’s Stadium, Peplow said “It feels amazing, I’ve been really welcomed.

“I know Marieanne (Spacey-Cale), I’ve worked with her previously, and as soon as I came down and heard her speak about the infrastructure, the ambition of the club and how integrated the men’s and the women’s teams are, that’s what did it for me.

“I’m super-excited to meet all the Saints fans, especially at St Mary’s, and get going.”

Peplow could go straight into the Southampton squad for their Barclays Women’s Championship fixture against her former club Crystal Palace at St Mary’s Stadium on Sunday.
