Chelsea manager Emma Hayes says that it is possible that Pernille Harder and Magda Eriksson could leave the club this summer.
The pair are out of contract with the South West Londoners at the end of the season and have been linked with moves outside of the English game.
Chelsea manager Hayes was asked about the potential departures of Harder and Eriksson during a recent club press conference and she did not rule out the players moving on.
“Discussing players and their current situations and links to clubs is not a place for this forum,” Hayes said.
“It’s between me and the players and the club and the players. Everybody knows they’re in the last six months of their contracts, so yes, that’s a possibility (that they could leave).”
Chelsea added just one player during the January transfer window with Japanese international forward Maika Hamano joining the club. The teenager is very much one for the longer term and she has been loaned out to Hammarby IF to further her development. Hayes has no complaints with the club’s January recruitment strategy whilst hinting that the summer transfer window could be busier.
She said “Our decision not to add to the (current) squad this window was because strategically, we always prefer to do our business in June.
“January is a notoriously difficult window in men and women’s football, that was proven the case in this one. We are happy with our squad as it stands. I much prefer to focus on June windows.”
Chelsea are next in action on Sunday afternoon when they travel to Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Women’s Super League.
