Manchester City and Arsenal will battle to stay in the Barclays Women’s Super League title race when they meet at The Academy Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Both sides have 26 points on the board, however, it is Arsenal who occupy the higher league position courtesy of their superior goal difference. The Gunners also have a game-in-hand on The Cityzens. The two clubs are currently five points adrift of Barclays Women’s Super League leaders Chelsea.

Manchester City head coach Gareth Taylor has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side’s latest match. Esme Morgan and Demi Stokes are unlikely to feature with the defenders not yet back to full fitness. Alanna Kennedy made a successful return when The Cityzens faced Arsenal in a FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup semi-final in midweek.

Arsenal head coach Jonas Eidevall will again be without the services of Beth Mead and Vivianne Miedema who have both been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Youngster Teyah Goldie is not yet back to full fitness. The Gunners are thought to have come through their last match without any new issues.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Manchester City and Arsenal is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm on Saturday afternoon. The match has been declared a sell-out.
