Tottenham Hotspur head coach Rehanne Skinner says that she has complete confidence that positive results will come.

The Lilywhites have suffered seven consecutive losses in the Barclays Women’s Super League since defeating Brighton & Hove Albion 8-0 at the end of October.

The poor run has dragged Spurs towards the relegation zone but head coach Skinner sees positives in her side’s performances and insists that results will turn.

“Everybody feels that they are contributing in a way that is helping to play to their strengths, that’s helping to create problems for other teams,” Skinner said when speaking to FAWSL Full-Time. “We are creating chances, we scored goals in the games against Manchester United, Chelsea and Villa prior to that. There are loads of positives to take since the start of the new year and it is just the fine margins that we are not quite getting over the line.

“I am 100 percent confident that we will get results and that we will finish the season strongly. I have belief in the players, their capabilities and what we have got in our locker to get those results, we’ve just got to produce those results as a collective. We just want games to go and prove that point and get results over the line.”

Spurs travel to The Academy Stadium to face Manchester City this afternoon in their latest Barclays Women’s Super League fixture. Skinner says that her side continue to adopt the same preparation for games and that she has full trust in her players to perform.

She said “Every game that we have is a tough game. We are continuing to focus on the performances that we are putting in. The results have eluded us in the last few WSL games and we have to get back on track. That’s not going to be easy at all but the preparation remains the same.

“We are in a good place; there’s a lot of belief in the team and I have a lot of belief in my players. We will get results sooner or later and whether that is this weekend or not, we are moving forward in the right way.

“We are going to give it everything that we possibly can to make life difficult for Manchester City and try and get points out of the game which is the big focus for us.”

Tottenham Hotspur’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture at Manchester City kicks-off at 2pm this afternoon.
