Reading have confirmed that Canadian international forward Deanne Rose is back on the training pitch after a lengthy absence.
The Royals posted an image of the 24-year-old back out on the grass on their official club Twitter account last night.
Rose has been out of action since the opening day of the season. The player lasted just 25 minutes of Reading’s 4-0 Barclays Women’s Super League defeat to Manchester United at the Leigh Sports Village before having to come off. Rose sustained an Achilles injury in that match and she has spent six months in rehabilitation.
The player will be focused on regaining her full fitness so that she is in a position to represent Canada at the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 but the added bonus is that Rose could make her Reading return before the end of the season.
Rose joined Reading in summer 2021 after winning the Gold Medal at the Olympic Games with Canada. The forward made 21 Barclays Women’s Super League appearances for The Royals in her first season with the club in which she scored four goals.
Reading have not announced details of when Rose will be ready to make her comeback appearance but it is thought that she is still weeks away at this point.
