Arsenal have sold out the Emirates Stadium for the very first time in their history for their UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie against VfL Wolfsburg.
The two sides will meet in North London on Monday evening with the winners set to face FC Barcelona in the UEFA Women’s Champions League final in Eindhoven, The Netherlands on 3 June.
Ticket demand for the match has been at a high level ever since the fixture was confirmed and the final available tickets were snapped up by fans earlier today. The Gunners will now take on VfL Wolfsburg in front of their first-ever sell-out crowd at the Emirates Stadium with their previous attendance record of 47,367 set to be smashed.
Arsenal’s semi-final, second leg tie is delicately poised. Jonas Eidevall’s side found themselves 2-0 down after 24 minutes in the first leg in Germany a week ago, however, The Gunners fought back and goals from Rafaelle Souza and Stina Blackstenius ensured that the game ended 2-2. Arsenal remain the only British club to win a European title and they will be hopeful of reaching a first UEFA Women’s Champions League final since 2007 this season.
The UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final, second leg tie between Arsenal and VfL Wolfsburg is scheduled to kick-off at 5.45pm on Monday evening.
