Chelsea return to Barclays Women’s Super League action for the first time in a month when they face Liverpool at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The Blues have not played a league fixture since they won 3-0 at Aston Villa on 2 April. Emma Hayes’ side are playing catch up and they will be hopeful of beating a Liverpool side who are yet to win on the road since being promoted back to the top flight last summer.

Chelsea manager Emma Hayes continues to be without the services of long-term absentees Millie Bright and Fran Kirby. The game may come too soon for Kadeisha Buchanan and Kateřina Svitková. Hayes could make some changes to her starting XI with the likes of Zećira Mušović, Sophie Ingle and Lauren James set to return to the line-up.

Liverpool manager Matt Beard must do without Melissa Lawley for the remainder of the season through injury. Yana Daniëls and Megan Campbell are out while Niamh Fahey and Leanne Kiernan are not yet ready to return, although they are back on the training pitch.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between Chelsea and Liverpool is scheduled to kick-off at 7.15pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain on general sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
