Tickets for Chelsea’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against title rivals Arsenal at Kingsmeadow later this month have sold out.

The Blues announced the news via a Tweet on their official club Twitter account this morning.

Chelsea’s meetings with Arsenal are always some of the most eagerly-anticipated games on the calendar and the latest fixture promises to be no different with all tickets having now been snapped up. A crowd well in excess of 3,000 are expected to cheer on the two sides at Kingsmeadow later this month.

The two clubs played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw when they contested the reverse fixture at the Emirates Stadium back in January. On that occasion, Arsenal took the lead through a Kim Little penalty kick before Sam Kerr rescued a point for Chelsea with a goal at the death. The Gunners were the better side for the vast majority of the game but Chelsea showed their experience in grinding out a result.

Both clubs remain in the Barclays Women’s Super League’s title race and that may still be the case when they meet again later this month.

Chelsea’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Arsenal at Kingsmeadow is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm on Sunday 21 May.
