Chelsea could make a long-awaited return to the top of the Barclays Women’s Super League table when they face West Ham United at The Chigwell Construction Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The Blues are currently a point behind leaders Manchester United but Emma Hayes’ side do have a game-in-hand on The Red Devils as a result of their extended run in the UEFA Women’s Champions League which recently came to an end at the semi-final stage.

West Ham United face Chelsea having failed to win any of their last nine matches in all competitions. Manager Paul Konchesky has no new injury concerns to contend with ahead of his side’s latest match. The Hammers remain without long-term absentee Jess Ziu while Abbey-Leigh Stringer is unlikely to return.

Chelsea manager Hayes is not believed to have any fresh injury concerns off the back of the club’s victory in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup final at the weekend. Attacker Fran Kirby is recovering from knee surgery while defender Millie Bright is unlikely to return before the end of the season.

The Barclays Women’s Super League fixture between West Ham United and Chelsea kicks-off at 8.15pm on Wednesday evening. Tickets remain on-sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
