Everton have announced the news that defender Rikke Sevecke will be leaving the club when her contract expires this summer.

The Blue Girls confirmed the Danish international’s scheduled departure via a post on their official club website this morning.

Sevecke has spent the last three years on Merseyside after joining Everton in summer 2020. The player has gone on to make 45 appearances for The Blue Girls in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she has scored two goals. The defender was a member of the Everton side which took on Manchester City in the 2019/2020 Vitality Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley. Sevecke played the first 90 minutes of that match before Everton went on to lose the tie in extra-time.

Everton have today revealed that Sevecke’s time at Walton Hall Park is coming to an end with the player set to undertake a new challenge next season.

Sevecke has enjoyed a successful final season with Everton. The player has featured in 20 of the club’s 21 matches in this season’s Barclays Women’s Super League, helping Everton to record a top half of the table finish.

The defender will be hoping to go out on a positive note when Everton travel to The Academy Stadium to take on Manchester City in their final match of the season on Saturday afternoon.
