Six players will leave Liverpool this summer when their contracts with the Merseyside club come to an end.

The Reds announced the departures via an update on their official club website just a short time ago.

It has been revealed that goalkeeper Charlotte Clarke, defenders Rhiannon Roberts, Leighanne Robe and Megan Campbell and midfielders Ashley Hodson and Carla Humphrey are all moving on.

Defenders Roberts and Campbell are the highest-profile departures with the pair having featured in the majority of Liverpool’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixtures this term. Long-serving full-back Robe has made 10 league appearances this season while midfielder Humphrey has been handed seven outings.

Goalkeeper Clarke and midfielder Hodson have spent time out on loan this season with West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City respectively. The pair’s departures come as no surprise.

After the club’s released list was issued, Liverpool boss Matt Beard said “I know our fans will join me in wishing all the players moving on the very best of luck in the future. It is a natural part of football for squads to evolve and change but we will be following their future progress with great interest.

“I’m pleased we have a final game on Saturday for the supporters to pay tribute to their work in matches, on the training pitch and as part of the group.”

Liverpool end a successful season back in the Barclays Women’s Super League with a home fixture against Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.
