Goalkeeper Emily Moore and defender Ellie Hack have signed one-year contract extensions with Lewes.

The Rookettes announced the news this morning via a post on their official club website.

Canadian keeper Moore joined Lewes on a free transfer last summer after leaving Barclays Women’s Super League club West Ham United. Moore largely provided cover for first-choice goalkeeper Sophie Whitehouse this season. Moore did feature in three FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup fixtures for Lewes, keeping a clean sheet in a 2-0 home victory over Charlton Athletic.

Injuries restricted young defender Hack’s game time this season. She made just eight appearances in the Barclays Women’s Championship, however, the player was very impressive when she was on the pitch. Lewes kept clean sheets in half of the games which Hack played in 2022/2023 while the player was a threat in the opposition box, scoring three league goals.

Five players have now signed on again at The Dripping Pan for the 2023/2024 season. Goalkeepers Whitehouse and Moore, defender Hack and midfielders Amelia Hazard and Grace Palmer have all signed new deals with Lewes so far this summer. Head coach Scott Booth will want to bring in new faces before the start of the season but it is good for the club to have a strong base to build upon.
