Lewes forward Amber-Keegan Stobbs has announced the news that she is leaving the club this summer after not receiving a new contract offer.
The player confirmed her Lewes departure via a post on her personal Twitter account earlier today.
Stobbs spent one season at The Dripping Pan after joining Lewes from Watford last summer. The forward netted two goals in 17 appearances for The Rooks in the Barclays Women’s Championship. Stobbs was an important player for Lewes, however, she is moving on this summer after not receiving the offer of a contract extension.
Explaining the situation, Stobbs said “My contract with Lewes FC expired on 30th June and I’ve received no contract offer or clarity from the Club on my future.
“Although this is not the ending I would have imagined with the Club, I’d like to thank the fans, my teammates and staff for a great season. I’d also like to thank all of the owners for making my job as ownerships officer enjoyable.
“Football is full of love and lessons. I’ve had one of my best summers ever and I’m excited for my next steps because I know they’ll be my best yet!”
Stobbs is the fifth player to leave Lewes this summer.
