Sheffield United’s 2022/2023 top scorer Courtney Sweetman-Kirk is one of four players to be leaving the club this summer.

The Blades announced their departure list via a post on their official club website just a short time ago.

It has been confirmed that forwards Sweetman-Kirk and Mia Enderby, midfielder Rhema Lord-Mears and defender Alethea Paul are all moving on.

Sweetman-Kirk was The Blades’ top scorer in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season with the player netting nine goals in 21 appearances. Youngster Enderby also hit the goal trail in 2022/2023. She scored seven goals in 19 league outings, the second-highest return in the team.

Midfielder Lord-Mears enjoyed an injury-free 2022/2023 after missing much of the previous campaign with a long-term injury. The player featured in all-but-one of Sheffield United’s Barclays Women’s Championship fixtures last term. Defender Paul was an ever-present for Jonathan Morgan’s side, one of only three players to achieve the feat.

On Friday, Sheffield United announced the news that they will begin the transition towards operating a full-time playing model. It is thought that some of the club’s summer departures are as a knock-on effect of the proposed switch to full-time professional football.

Further squad news will be announced by The Blades over the course of the summer.
