Charlton Athletic forward Angela Addison has signed a one-year contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.

The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Addison joined Charlton Athletic last summer after leaving Barclays Women’s Super League club Tottenham Hotspur. The forward was an ever-present for Karen Hills’ side in the Barclays Women’s Championship last season. Addison netted two goals in 22 league outings for The Addicks.

Despite only being 23 years of age, Addison has lots of experience under her belt. The forward is a former Barclays Women’s Championship promotion winner while she boasts 47 top flight appearances from her time with former club Tottenham Hotspur. Addison’s experience could be key with latest club Charlton Athletic hoping to mount a push for promotion this season.

After signing on again with The Addicks, Addison said “I’m happy to be at Charlton for another season. Last season we finished in a good position, but I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do for the upcoming season. I like the direction the club is going in and I’m happy to be a part of it for another season.”

Addison follows youngsters Mary Bashford and Jess Gray in signing a new contract with Charlton Athletic this summer.
