Leicester City have completed the signing of Australian international defender Courtney Nevin from Swedish club Hammarby IF.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this morning.

The 21-year-old moves to The King Power Stadium on a permanent basis after spending the second half of last season on loan at Leicester City. Nevin was one of the club’s top performers as The Foxes defied the odds to secure their Barclays Women’s Super League status for another season. The defender made 12 appearances for Willie Kirk’s side in all competitions.

Nevin will now be hoping to kick on in England after sealing her permanent move to Leicester City.

After signing on with The Foxes, Nevin said “It’s great to have the opportunity to stay at LCFC Women. It’s such an exciting time to be part of the club. We’ve got a fantastic squad, wonderful facilities and the chance to continue building on the success we had in the second half of last season.

“Since I joined, I’ve had a chance to see first-hand how much potential the Club and the squad has. The league is so competitive, but we’ve shown that we have what it takes to compete, so I’m really excited to be part of that and look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

Nevin becomes Leicester City’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
