Charlton Athletic defender Kiera Skeels has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.

The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website earlier today.

Skeels joined Charlton Athletic in summer 2021 and she has gone on to cement her place in the side. The defender has made 40 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she has scored three goals.

The 21-year-old is one of the brightest young defenders in the Barclays Women’s Championship and she will be hoping to continue her career progression with Charlton Athletic in the 2023/2024 season.

After signing on again with The Addicks, Skeels said “I’m delighted to sign a new contract with the club. I’ve really enjoyed my last two years here and I’ve developed a lot as a player. I’m really looking forward to the new season and I hope I can push on and help the team as much as I can.”

Skeels is the fourth player to sign a new contract with Charlton Athletic so far this summer. Forward Angela Addison has also committed her immediate future to The Addicks while youngsters Mary Bashford and Jess Gray have signed their first professional deals with the South East Londoners.
