Birmingham City defender Louise Quinn has signed a two-year contract extension with the club.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Blues this morning.

The 33-year-old Republic of Ireland international centre-back joined Birmingham City in summer 2021 after leaving Italian club Fiorentina. Quinn has gone on to be an ever-present for the Blues in league competition, starting all of the club’s 44 fixtures in the last two seasons. The defender has been solid at the back whilst providing a goal threat from set-pieces at the other end of the pitch.

Quinn is a vital member of the Birmingham City side and her quality and experience will be needed this season as the club look to challenge for the Barclays Women’s Championship title and promotion back to the top flight.

Birmingham City have been exceptionally busy in recent weeks with the club building their squad for the 2023/2024 season. Quinn is the eighth player to sign a contract extension at St Andrew’s. Siobhan Wilson, Lucy Thomas, Martha Harris, Jade Pennock, Abbi Jenner, Louanne Worsey and Lucy Quinn have also penned new deals with the club. In terms of incomings, Birmingham City have signed utility player Ellie Mason and midfielder Charlie Devlin.
