Former Reading midfielder Chloe Peplow has secured a permanent move to Barclays Women’s Championship club Southampton.

The Saints announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this evening.

Peplow joins Southampton off the back of a successful loan spell with the club during the second half of last season. The midfielder made nine appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship.

At the end of the season, Peplow announced the news that she was leaving Reading and she has now agreed a permanent deal with loan club Southampton.

After re-joining The Saints, Peplow said “I’m very excited to be here!

“For me, spending my three-month loan period here solidified the fact that this was somewhere that I wanted to call home.

“The club’s ambition, the places they want to go, the facilities and the infrastructure, as well as Marieanne (Spacey-Cale) and the group of girls were all reasons I wanted to make this move permanent.”

Peplow becomes Southampton manager Marieanne Spacey-Cale’s first signing of the summer transfer window. The club have retained the vast majority of their 2022/2023 playing squad, however, there could be a few more new additions before the season kicks-off to increase competition for places.
