Leicester City have completed the signing of German forward Lena Petermann from French club Montpellier HSC.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the transfer via an official club press release from The Foxes this afternoon.

Petermann has scored 26 goals in 48 appearances in the D1 Arkema for Montpellier HSC. The player has spent the last four seasons playing her football in the French top flight. Prior to her spell with Montpellier HSC, Petermann represented Hamburger SV, SC Freiburg and Turbine Potsdam.

On the international stage, Petermann has 25 senior caps to her name.

After completing her move to Leicester City, Petermann said “It feels really great. I’m really excited to be here, to play and give everything for this Club. It’s always been my dream to play in this league – there’s so much quality and now I have this opportunity and I can’t wait to get started.

“Scoring goals is my job and I want to bring everything to the team to help them however I can. I’ve played in various different countries – France, the US – and I hope this experience will benefit everyone.”

Petermann has become Leicester City head coach Willie Kirk’s third summer signing following the recent additions of Courtney Nevin and Janina Leitzig.
