Sheffield United midfielder Bex Rayner has signed a contract extension with the club ahead of the new season.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this afternoon.

Rayner is in her second spell with Sheffield United. She was a member of the side which played in the Barclays Women’s Championship for the first time in 2018/2019 before the player later spent time with third tier club Nottingham Forest. Rayner returned to Sheffield United in 2021 and she has played an important role for the club in the last two-and-a-half seasons.

The midfielder has made 61 appearances for The Blades in the Barclays Women’s Championship so far and she will now add to that tally this season after signing a new deal.

After signing on again at Bramall Lane, Rayner said “I’m really happy. I’ve been here a while now, it feels like my home, playing at Bramall Lane. The atmosphere which built up last year and ending the season on a high, going full-time is the next step we needed and hopefully, we can push on.”

Rayner follows full-back and 2022/2023 Player of the Year Charlotte Newsham in signing a new deal with Sheffield United this summer.
