Charlton Athletic have completed the signing of Welsh international forward Kayleigh Green on a one-year deal.

The Addicks announced the news this morning via a post on their official club website.

Green joins the South East Londoners on a free transfer after leaving former club Brighton & Hove Albion at the end of last season. The 35-year-old spent five seasons representing The Seagulls in the Barclays Women’s Super League in which she made 86 appearances and scored eight goals.

In addition to her attacking qualities, Green can operate in various deeper roles. It is not yet known how she will be deployed by head coach Karen Hills at new club Charlton Athletic.

After signing with The Addicks, Green said “From the moment I walked in, the girls have been so welcoming. I feel like I have fitted in straight away which has been great.

“I’m a hard-working player and that is something that I will always show in training sessions, as well as in the game.”

Charlton Athletic boss Hills has now added three players to her squad in the summer transfer window. Full-back Kate Longhurst, goalkeeper Sian Rogers and forward Green have all signed on at The Oakwood for the new season.
