Forward Isobel Goodwin has joined Sheffield United from former Barclays Women’s Championship club Coventry United (now Rugby Borough).

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this evening.

Goodwin came through the youth system at Aston Villa and she went on to feature for the club at first team level on a handful of occasions. With the forward struggling for game time, Goodwin spent the second half of last season at Coventry United. The youngster made 12 appearances for the Warwickshire club in which she scored four goals.

Goodwin is ready to make a further impression at Barclays Women’s Championship level and she will now look to kick on with new club Sheffield United.

After joining The Blades, Goodwin said “I’m very happy. Being at the likes of Bramall Lane week in, week out is what dreams are made of so I’m really happy to be here.

“The first conversation I had with Jonno (Morgan), I wanted to come here straight away. With his and the club’s ambitions, I’m really happy to be here.”

Goodwin becomes Sheffield United’s third signing of the summer transfer window. The club have also added Sophie Barker and Jess Sigsworth to their squad this summer.
