Bristol City have completed the signing of defender Satara Murray on a two-year deal.

The Robins announced news of their latest addition via a post on their official club website this evening. Murray returns to Ashton Gate after spending a season playing her football in the American National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) with Racing Louisville.

Murray spent the 2021/2022 season with Bristol City. She made 21 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship. Murray was very much a fans’ favourite in her initial spell with The Robins. Her towering presence and physicality made her a tough prospect for opposition attackers.

After re-joining Bristol City, Murray said “I’m so happy to be back at Bristol City. This is home and it always will be home. I’m so excited to be back because it’s a privilege to play for this club.

“It’s great to be back in with the girls and it feels like I’ve picked up where I left off two seasons ago which is amazing.”

Murray becomes Bristol City head coach Lauren Smith’s second signing of the summer transfer window. The Robins boss has also acquired the services of former London City Lionesses midfielder Amy Rodgers during the close season.
