Former Liverpool midfielder Carla Humphrey has joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Charlton Athletic on a free transfer.

The Addicks announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

Humphrey joins Charlton Athletic after leaving former club Liverpool at the end of last season. She has signed a two-year deal with the South East Londoners.

The midfielder arrives at Charlton Athletic with lots of top flight playing experience under her belt. Humphrey has turned out for Arsenal, Doncaster Rovers Belles, Bristol City and Liverpool in her career to date. She has made almost 100 appearances in the Barclays Women’s Super League.

After joining Charlton Athletic, Humphrey said “I’m really excited. Really pleased to be here – I’ve met all the girls, and it’s a great group and a really talented group – I’m really happy to be here.

“They’re people that can help me develop my game to another level. Hopefully, I can come in and add competition for places. As I said, it’s a talented group, I feel like they’re the types of players I want to be playing with, and hopefully, we can work together and succeed this season.”

Humphrey becomes Charlton Athletic’s seventh signing of the summer transfer window.
