Sheffield United goalkeeper Bethan Davies has signed a contract extension with the club ahead of the new Barclays Women’s Championship season.
FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Blades this evening.
Davies joined Sheffield United from Huddersfield Town last summer. She made 11 appearances for the club in the Barclays Women’s Championship while she kept two clean sheets.
It is fair to say that Davies will face a real battle for the number one jersey at Bramall Lane this season with Fran Stenson having recently joined the club but she is up for the fight after opting to extend her contract with Sheffield United for another year.
After signing on again with The Blades, Davies said “I’m really happy to be here again and to get the deal done. We know what we’re aiming towards, we’ve all got a really strong vision for this season.
“It’s really competitive, me and Fran will be the best we can. We push each other, we challenge each other and it’s good for us to both be back.”
Davies becomes the seventh member of Sheffield United’s 2022/2023 squad to sign a new contract with the club this summer.
