Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Lewes defender Nat Johnson ahead of the 2023/2024 season.
The Tricky Trees announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website earlier today.
Johnson has played in every game in the Barclays Women’s Championship in the last two seasons. She was an ever-present for Coventry United in the 2021/2022 season before repeating the feat with Lewes last season. Johnson has also turned out for Leicester City and Sheffield United in the second tier.
New club Nottingham Forest have promotion ambitions and Johnson will be hoping to help them finally reach the elite game.
After securing Johnson’s services, Nottingham Forest’s Women’s and Girls Manager, Amber Wildgust said “We are delighted to welcome Nat to the club after playing for Lewes FC last season on the South Coast.
“Nat brings a wealth of experience playing multiple positions, she is a wonderful character who will be an excellent addition to the squad.”
Nottingham Forest were runners-up in last season’s FA Women’s National League Championship Play-Off Final. The East Midlands club were defeated 1-0 by Watford at Stadium MK. One could argue that Nottingham Forest were slightly short on elite game experience last season but they are certainly adding quality to their ranks this summer.
