Durham midfielder Sarah Robson has signed a one-year contract extension with the club ahead of the 2023/2024 Barclays Women’s Championship season.

The Wildcats announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon. Robson will also continue to combine playing with her role supporting the club’s Professional Game Academy squad.

Robson is set to begin her ninth campaign with Durham after joining the club in 2016. The veteran midfielder has made 165 appearances for The Wildcats in all competitions so far. That appearance tally ranks as Durham’s fourth-highest of all time. Robson is also fourth in terms of goals scored with 21.

The 36-year-old Northern Ireland international proved that age is no barrier last season with Robson enjoying a successful campaign with Durham on a personal level. She will be hoping for another strong season in 2023/2024.

After signing her new deal, Robson said “I’m looking forward to another year at Durham.

“We’re all determined and motivated to improve on our performances last year and finish higher up the table.

“I’m also really looking forward to work with our Professional Game Academy squad again. They’ve all developed loads in the last year and I’m sure they’ll keep doing that this year.”

Robson and Durham begin the new Barclays Women’s Championship season with a fixture at Watford on Sunday 27 August 2023.
